Insomnia

Damn it's 9.50am and I can't sleep! Plus, just as I was about to try getting under the covers, this song popped and is now repeating itself in my head. So much so that I had to open up iTunes and listen to it. It's definitely one of my favourite and one of the most beautiful Beatles songs. However, I read the history behind it and apparently at the time Lennon wrote it, his relationship with his wife (non-Yoko) was falling apart. So its history is far from tranquil. There's also the reference to meditation 'Jai guru deva om' but it's ironic as it's followed by 'Nothing's gonna change my world".

Across the Universe
Words are flying out like
endless rain into a paper cup
They slither while they pass
They slip away across the universe
Pools of sorrow waves of joy
are drifting thorough my open mind
Possessing and caressing me

Jai guru deva om
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world

Images of broken light which
dance before me like a million eyes
That call me on and on across the universe
Thoughts meander like a
restless wind inside a letter box
they tumble blindly as
they make their way across the universe

Jai guru deva om
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world

Sounds of laughter shades of life
are ringing through my open ears
exciting and inviting me
Limitless undying love which
shines around me like a million suns
It calls me on and on across the universe

Jai guru deva om
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Jai guru deva
Jai guru deva

Attempt no 2, jai guru deva om, nothing's gonna to change my world? Nite folks!
